"So Sean knows everything?" Lucy asked.

"He says he does, but he might just be fishing. The Sisters will just stay out of sight for a while and he's going to try to discourage the FBI and his secret boss from digging any more."

"Sounds like he's a good guy, besides being good looking."

"Yeah, I really think he is."

"Are you falling for him?"

"Lucy Mitchel, stop it. You're too strong a person to be jealous, and I would never cheat."

"Sorry, I know. I just hope you get things straightened out so you can come down soon."

"After Thanksgiving, when Callie comes back I should be able to get away."

"Should?"

"I will, I will be able to, once we get the FBI and all these idiots off our ass."

"There's always going to be something."

"Let's not fight, please?"

They managed to lighten the conversation, but the distance was an issue, and it worried Danielle. She watched television for a few minutes, then remembered it was garbage day. She gathered up the trash, bagged it, and walked out to drop it in the can sitting next to the garage. She turned her head up and looked at the full moon, wondering if Lucy was looking at the same beautiful sky. The realization came too late. There was a moment, just long enough for the rush of fear to send adrenalin coursing through her veins, but not enough time to react. There was an explosion of light, then darkness.
